Now in its fourth year, Forces of Fashion is going virtual over two days on November 16 & 17. The event will yet again bring together some of the most creative and compelling figures in our world, sparking all sorts of conversations which will not only speak to style, but politics, culture, inclusivity, and climate change.

Vogue’s annual Forces of Fashion event returns for its fourth year on November 16th and 17th. Though the format has been reimagined (we’re going digital), the thought-provoking conversations with the most compelling and exciting talents both in fashion and beyond— and the opportunity to connect with your fellow attendees—remains the same. We will be looking at how fashion is finding its place—while still bringing us joy—in our rapidly changing world. We’ll also examine the new ways in which fashion is fostering sustainability, transparency, and industry responsibility—and, crucially, how all of this is shaping inspiration and creativity.

This Year’s Speakers Include
Virgil Abloh was born in Rockford, Illinois in 1980. After earning a degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he completed a master’s degree in architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology. In 2012, Abloh’s label, Off-White, began in the form of an artwork titled “PYREX VISION,” and the following year Off-White was introduced as a seasonal men’s and women’s fashion brand that also began producing furniture. In 2017, Abloh was nominated for the Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent at the CFDA Awards, and in 2018 he was nominated for both Womenswear Designer of the Year and Menswear Designer of the Year at the CFDA Awards. Later in 2018, Abloh was named artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuitton.
Abloh has presented his work at major art and design institutions around the globe, including the Harvard Graduate School of Design; the Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation; and the Rhode Island School of Design. This summer, a major exhibition of his past and current work goes on view at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
Alber Elbaz, designer, was born in Casablanca, Morocco, and raised in Israel from the age of 1. He studied at the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design. In 1985, he started his work in fashion in New York with the iconic designer Geoffrey Beene, staying on for seven years as Head Designer. In 1996, Alber became the Design Director at Guy Laroche in Paris, before succeeding Monsieur Yves Saint-Laurent at YSL as Creative Director of Rive Gauche from 1998 to 2000.
In 2001, Alber started his 14-year tenure as Creative Director at Lanvin, earning critical and commercial success for the house, and cementing a worldwide reputation as a beloved designer. In 2019, he announced AZ Fashion in partnership with Richemont. AZ Fashion is his return to the work and the people he loves. It will also manifest his dynamic new approach to innovation and design, as well as his unshakable attention to the real needs of women globally.
Alber’s honors and recognitions are wide-reaching and significant. They include the International Award from the CFDA in 2005; the Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur as well as Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People In The World distinctions in 2007; an honorary doctorate from the Royal College of Art in London in 2014; and he was made Officier of the Légion d’Honneur in 2016. Alber resides in Paris, but always remains a citizen of the world.
Daniel Lee was born and raised in Bradford, England. From a young age, Lee was very dedicated to his academics, and what he loved most was “making things.” Eventually his creativity and dedication led him to study at Central Saint Martins, while also completing internships at Martin Margiela and Balenciaga. After graduating in 2011, he went to work for Donna Karan in New York City, where he stayed for two years, before being tapped as ready-to-wear design director at Céline under Phoebe Philo. In 2018, he was appointed creative director at Bottega Veneta. Lee’s stated mission is “to maintain the codes of the house—craftsmanship, quality and sophistication—while imbuing them with a new perspective and modernity.”
According to Kering Chief Executive and Chairman François-Henri Pinault, “his work is characterised by great rigour, a mastery of studio expertise, a true passion for materials and an energy that I cannot wait to see take shape at Bottega Veneta.”

With a timeless look and an effervescent personality, Tess's star continues to rise. On Instagram, she has cultivated over 32,000 followers. She has appeared in countless magazines, including American Vogue, British Vogue, Italian Vogue, L'Officiel Italia, V Magazine, Garage Magazine, Another Magazine, and Love Magazine. She's worked with many high-profile photographers such as Annie Leibovitz, Tim Walker, Harley Weir, and, most recently, Steven Meisel for the Pat McGrath Summer 2020 campaign. Tess has also appeared in several other prominent brand advertisements, including the 2018 and 2019 Marc Jacobs beauty campaigns and the 2019 Rodarte campaign celebrating women of all sizes.
Outside the world of fashion, Tess continues to explore her creative talents as both an Actor and a painter. She often posts her artwork on her Instagram page, and she recently starred in "The Knot," a short film. As Tess herself describes it, her goals are "to keep creating art that inspires others and working alongside people that inspire me! I love creating beautiful pieces that I'm proud of, and I want to continue to do that long into the future. I'm very open to where the industry takes me."
Currently, Tess lives in Brooklyn, New York.
After being discovered in Atlanta, Precious launched her modeling career at the age of 18. Since then, her career has skyrocketed. She has appeared at New York Fashion Week for designers Christian Siriano, Tommy Hilfiger and Matthew Adams Nolan. For the SS21 season, she walked for Versace at Milan Fashion Week. Precious has been featured in publications such as Love Magazine, Glamour, Allure, Paper Magazine, V Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, and M Le Monde, appearing on the cover of Vogue Italia September 2020. She has worked with some of the most notable photographers in the industry, including Cass Bird, Inez and Vinoodh, Mark Borthwick, Ethan James Green, Tyler Mitchell and Juergen Teller.
Most recently, Precious garnered national attention in luxury brand campaigns such as Miu Miu’s Wonderwoman Capsule and Marc Jacobs’ Perfect Fragrance. She also partnered with the brand Fleur du Mal to bring size inclusivity to luxury lingerie.
Erivo recently starred in Kasi Lemmons’ “Harriet,” where she brought the legacy of Harriet Tubman to the big screen. She told the story of how Tubman helped free hundreds of slaves from the South after escaping slavery herself in 1849. Focus Features premiered the film at the Toronto International Film Festival and released the film on November 1, 2019. In addition to leading the cast, Erivo lent her voice to the movie’s title song, “Stand Up,” for which she also co-wrote. “Stand Up” won “Best Original Song” at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. Both Cynthia and “Stand Up” were nominated for two Academy Awards as well as two Golden Globe Awards in the categories of “Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama” and “Best Original Song” respectively. The film also garnered ten NAACP nominations as well
as AAFCA and Society of Composers & Lyricists Award wins.
Erivo can soon be seen as Aretha Franklin in the next installment of National Geographic’s Emmy- winning global anthology series “Genius: Aretha.” This upcoming season will be the first-ever, definitive and only authorized scripted limited series on the life of the universally acclaimed Queen of Soul. It will premiere on National Geographic channels which are shown in 172 countries and 43 languages.
Erivo currently stars on the HBO series “The Outsider,” which premiered on January 12, 2020. The series is based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. Erivo stars alongside Ben Mendelsohn in the series, which follows an unorthodox investigator and a seasoned cop investigating a gruesome murder of a local boy.
In August, Erivo launched her production company, Edith’s Daughter, and announced her first-look deal with MRC Television & Civic Center Media. Edith’s Daughter will focus on projects that express the beauty in the stories and people who are often overlooked and underrepresented. Erivo named former BRON Studios Director of Development, Solome Williams, as Vice President of the company.
Additionally, Erivo has many upcoming projects. She will star alongside Daisy Ridley and David Oyelowo in Doug Liman’s highly anticipated sci-fi thriller, “Chaos Walking” and will join Orlando Bloom, Freida Pinto, and Leslie Odom Jr as the star of John Ridley’s “Needle in a Timestack.” She will executive produce and start in Warner Brothers’ musical take on the American folk tale of “Rip Van Winkle.” Erivo is also set to produce and star in the film adaptation of the QCode scripted thriller podcast, “Carrier.” Erivo will lead the cast as a long-haul truck driver who, during her all-night trip across rural America, discovers she’s transporting a trailer with disturbing, mysterious contents. Erivo both voiced and produced the podcast which premiered on July 1, 2019. Erivo will add to her producing credits as the executive producer of the upcoming Quibi docuseries, "What We Keep.”
It was recently announced that Erivo will star in Universal’s “Talent Show”, directed by Gandja Monteiro
and written by Lena Waithe. “Talent Show” is the story of a failed songwriter (to be played by Erivo) who
returns home to Chicago to lead a group of at-risk youth in their annual talent show.
Continuing to push the boundaries of her versatile career, Erivo stars in John Cameron Mitchell’s music- driven podcast anthology, “Anthem: Homunculus,” which combines music, drama and theater to create a dense and masterful musical journey, in the style of a radio play, produced by Topic.
In 2018, Erivo made her film debut in Drew Goddard’s “Bad Times at the El Royale,” which is set in the 1960s in a dilapidated hotel in the Lake Tahoe region of California. 20th Century Fox released the film on October 12, which also stars Jeff Bridges, Chris Hemsworth, and Jon Hamm, among others. Erivo also starred as ‘Belle’ in Steve McQueen’s drama, “Widows,” opposite Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, and Elizabeth Debicki. Set in contemporary Chicago, amidst a time of turmoil, the film follows four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands' criminal activities, who take fate into their own hands, and conspire to forge a future on their own terms. 20th Century Fox released the film on November 16 following a successful premiere at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival. Erivo rounded out the year with a 2019 BAFTA EE Rising Star Award nomination for her exceptional work in film and on stage.
Erivo made her Broadway debut reprising her starring role as ‘Celie’ in the critically acclaimed revival of “The Color Purple.” She first played the role in 2013 at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory, earning rave reviews and an Evening Standard Theatre Award® nomination for Best Musical Performance and a WhatsOnStage Award® nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. Her performance on Broadway earned her several awards, including the Tony Award® for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical, a Grammy award® as a principal soloist on original cast recording of “The Color Purple” (Best Musical Theater Album), a Daytime Emmy Award® for Outstanding Musical Performance in a Daytime Program, the Drama Desk Award®, Theatre World®, and Outer Critics Circle Awards®.
In spring 2015, Erivo appeared as ‘Puck’ in the Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse production of William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night's Dream,” directed by Nick Bagnall. In fall 2014, she returned to her classical roots in the Donmar Warehouse's acclaimed all-female production of “Henry IV,” opposite Dame Harriet Walter, directed by Phyllida Lloyd. In summer 2014, she played the lead in the European premiere of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty musical, “Dessa Rose,” at Trafalgar Studios.
Erivo’s additional theatre credits include the Perfect Pitch musical, “Lift,” directed by Steven Paling; Kneehigh Theatre's production of “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg” at the Gielgud Theatre; the starring role of ‘Deloris Van Cartier’ in the UK tour of Jerry Zaks' production of “Sister Act;” Harry Hill and Simon Cowell's critically acclaimed musical, “I Can't Sing,” at the London Palladium in the West End; Simon Stephens' “Marine Parade,” which premiered at the 2010 Brighton Festival, John Adams' experimental song play, “I Was Looking at the Ceiling and Then I Saw The Sky,” at Theatre Royal Stratford East; and Dominic Hill's “The Three Musketeers and The Princess of Spain” at Traverse, Belgrade and English Touring theatres.
In addition to her stage career, Cynthia is an accomplished songwriter, having written the song, "Fly Before You Fall," for the 2014 feature film “Beyond the Lights.” In March 2015, she made her solo concert debut with the show entitled “Hear My Soul” at Kings Place in London. In September 2016, Erivo starred as ‘Cathy’ alongside Joshua Henry in a one-night benefit concert performance of Jason Robert Brown's “The Last Five Years,” with proceeds going to the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence. Erivo has performed with symphonies and music spaces including the Kennedy Center Honors, the 2020 Academy Awards, the 2017 Governor’s Ball (the official post- Oscars celebration) and the 2017 Grammy Awards.
A UK native, Erivo graduated from the famed Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 2010.
Elsesser has starred in major brand campaigns for Fenty Beauty, Glossier, Nike and H&M and has featured in editorials for various Vogue’s, i-D, CR Fashion Book, Teen Vogue, ELLE and Allure; to name a few. Most recently, Elsesser has served as a muse for Eckhaus Latta, Adam Selman and Miaou, and has graced the covers of British Vogue and i-D. In 2019, she was appointed a coveted spot in the selection committee for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.
She currently holds contracts with Dior Cosmetics and Calvin Klein. Bella has worked with top photographers including Luigi and Iango, Mario Sorrenti, Steven Meisel, Inez & Vinoodh, David Sims, Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, Steven Klein, Hugo Comte, and Ezra Petronio. Bella’s campaigns have included Fendi, Versace, Givenchy, Michael Kors, Moschino, Calvin Klein, and Missoni amongst many others.
When she’s not traveling around the globe, Bella enjoys riding horses, spending time with her friends and family, as well as exploring her passion for art and photography.
During her tenure at Condé Nast, Ms. Wintour has been actively involved in philanthropic fundraising, particularly for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, for which she has raised more than $200 million for the museum. She serves as an Elective Trustee of the institution. She is also a Founding Committee Member for the New York-Presbyterian Youth Anxiety Center, which focuses on anxiety disorders in people aged 16–28.
In 2017, for her service to British journalism and fashion, Ms. Wintour was named Dame Commander (DBE) of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II. In 2011, she was awarded the Légion d’Honneur by French President Nicolas Sarkozy. In October 2009, President Obama appointed Ms. Wintour to the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities.
She has been the recipient of numerous awards for her leadership and charitable efforts, including the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Award of Courage for AIDS Research from the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amFAR).
Born in London, England, Naomi was discovered at age 15 and made an immediate impact in the modeling world, which she has sustained for over three decades. Naomi has championed the industry receiving numerous accolades. She was the first black model to appear on the cover of TIME magazine, French and Russian Vogue, as well as the first British black model to appear on the cover of British Vogue. Naomi is a passionate advocate for diversity, starting the Diversity Coalition with Bethann Hardison and Iman in 2013 to tackle racial diversity in the fashion industry. Today, Naomi is undoubtedly solidifying her place as a cultural innovator – using her incredible platform and success for positive change across industries around the world. Naomi’s first steps in philanthropy began with her friendship with the late President Nelson Mandela in 1993. In 1997, President Mandela named Naomi an “Honorary Granddaughter” for her endless activism. 2018 saw the continuation of her work in South Africa as she co-hosted Global Citizen’s New York Festival and co-produced the organization’s benchmark event Mandela 100.
Naomi’s charity work has a strong focus on education and the empowerment of youths and women – her campaigns consist of helping develop alternative industries such as fashion, tech, business, entertainment, and arts in Africa. In 2018, Naomi became executive producer of Arise Fashion Week – one of Africa’s most respected fashion showcases, which brings together, nurtures, and presents the top fashion talents from the continent’s 54 countries. Naomi is passionate about developing the African fashion industry, particularly in fostering international business partnerships that grow the market. In 2019, Naomi was the headline speaker at Forbes Woman Africa’s Leading Women Summit, and she spearheaded the Gucci Changemakers program in Africa, launching the educational program in four countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa. In the same year, Naomi gave a keynote speech at the Africa Netpreneur Prize in Ghana – an entrepreneur program in Africa led by the Jack Ma Foundation, with Ban Ki-moon, Graca Machel, and Jack Ma on the advisory board.
Human rights and global health– as it specifically pertains to women and children – have been critical sectors of Naomi’s charity work. In partnership with the United Nations, she has supported the International Women’s Day’s Peace March which aims to end violence against women. In 2018, Naomi launched The Lesotho HIV and Health ‘Situation Room’ campaign, alongside the Deputy Prime Minister – an initiative to offer sexual health service and education for the youths of Lesotho.
Naomi launched her charity Fashion For Relief in 2005, which has raised millions for disaster relief and humanitarian causes around the globe, including child refugee crises, maternal health, Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti earthquake, the Japan earthquake and tsunami, Mayors Fund for London, and more. Showcasing only the finest craftsmanship, fabrication and materials, all four Victoria Beckham lines are developed at Victoria’s studio in London. The Victoria Beckham Ready-to-Wear collection is primarily made in the UK, whilst the Victoria, Victoria Beckham collection is predominantly produced in Europe. The Accessories and Eyewear are both expertly handcrafted in Italy.
As the Victoria Beckham collections became ever more progressive, so this passion for innovation extended to the brand’s communications and creative projects. In 2013 it launched victoriabeckham.com, a website offering both e-commerce and interactive content curated to provide a more intimate view of Victoria’s design approach and working processes. In 2014 Victoria Beckham opened its first store at 36 Dover Street in London – a collaboration with architect Farshid Moussavi to transform a neglected Mayfair townhouse into a shopping destination echoing the dynamism and modernity at the heart of the brand.
In 2016 the brand opened its first bricks and mortar store in Asia with an impressive second global retail location at the Landmark in the centre of Hong Kong. As part of its continued international retail expansion, the brand now has a series of shop in shops globally. These personalised spaces allow for the brand’s distinctive retail identity to live within larger shopping environments around the world. In autumn 2016, Victoria Beckham partnered with esteemed beauty brand Estee Lauder to create a limited edition make up collection. A second Victoria Beckham Estee Lauder make up collection, twice the size of the first and with an array of new products and shades, debuted in September 2017.
In April 2017, Victoria Beckham released a limited-edition spring collaboration with US retailer Target. Designed to reflect the upbeat charm of the Victoria, Victoria Beckham line, the collection marked Victoria’s first foray into childrenswear, including pieces for women, girls, toddler and baby.
A long-term partnership with fitness and lifestyle brand Reebok was announced in November 2017. The Reebok x Victoria Beckham collections fuse fitness and fashion and span apparel, footwear and accessories. IIn 2018, Victoria Beckham received investment from NEO Investment Partners, a private investment firm specialising in luxury brands. Following the investment, the brand announced the appointment of Ralph Toledano as Chairman.
More recently and in celebration of the ten-year anniversary of the brand, Victoria Beckham relocated the Ready-to-Wear show from New York to London, with the brand making its debut at London Fashion Week in September 2018.
In November 2018, the brand announced a long-term global licensing agreement with Marchon Eyewear. Developed in Italy, the collection will embody Victoria Beckham’s refined aesthetic, taking cues from the brand’s distinctively modern ready-to-wear and accessory offerings. The new collections will roll-out globally from September 2019.
In January 2019, Victoria Beckham announced Victoria Beckham Beauty, offering a unique synergy between the worlds of beauty and fashion. The beauty business is based in New York and headed by co-founder and CEO Sarah Creal. Victoria Beckham Beauty debuts in Autumn/Winter 2019.
Parker has worked in the theatre, on and off Broadway, since 1976 when she debuted on Broadway in The Innocents directed by Harold Pinter. Other Broadway credits include: the title role in Annie, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and Once Upon a Mattress. Off-Broadway credits include: the original production of To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday and The Commons of Pensacola.
Parker was last seen on HBO’s television series Divorce (2016-2019), in which she also served as an executive producer. Parker was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in the series.
Parker starred as Carrie Bradshaw on the HBO television series Sex and the City (1998-2004) and served as an executive producer. Parker reprised her role and served as a producer for the screen adaptation of the hit series with the theatrical release of Sex and the City and Sex and the City 2. In her recent film Here And Now, a devastating doctor’s visit sends an accomplished singer reeling through the streets of New York City. Parker plays the lead role Vivienne in this French New Wave-inspired drama, which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2018. The film, which shot in New York City in just 16 days, was written by Laura Eason and directed by Fabien Constant.
Sarah Jessica founded Pretty Matches Productions in 2005 with a first-look deal at HBO, where the company has had a deal ever since. Pretty Matches produces scripted and unscripted television as well as narrative and documentary feature films such as HBO’s Divorce which Parker starred in for three seasons and was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance and Here and Now which premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival, Bravo’s Work of Art: The Next Great Artist which sold into multiple territories internationally, the award-winning documentary Pretty Old, and AOL On’s City Ballet.
Parker released her signature fragrance, Lovely, in 2005. Over ten years later, it is currently a top selling global brand. She recently introduced two new fragrance to the SJP Beauty collection called Stash and Born Lovely.
Sarah Jessica launched SJP for Hogarth which publishes high-quality works of fiction by both established writers and distinctive emerging voices with critical and commercial promise. In this new role, Parker acquires and curates works of fiction that reflect her own taste as a reader. SJP for Hogarth’s first acquisition was “A Place for Us,” a debut novel by Fatima Farheen Mirza, which became an instant New York Times bestseller upon publication in June 2018. In 2014, Parker launched her namesake label, SJP, which is carried by Amazon Fashion, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus online, Saks.com, and Zappos Luxury, as well as various other boutiques and international retailers. Parker designed this collection of shoes, handbags and accessories in association with George Malkemus III. SJP now has eight permanent stand-alone stores worldwide, as well as a recently launched e-commerce website.
In September 2019, Parker released a new Sauvignon Blanc wine in partnership with New Zealand-based Invivo & Co. ‘Invivo X, SJP’ was judged to be the best alcohol launch worldwide at the 2020 ‘Drinks Business Awards’.
Parker currently serves as a Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors for the New York City Ballet. In November 2009, the Obama administration elected her to be a member of the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities. Parker recently became a member of The Partnership for New York City, a 501(c) organization dedicated to building partnerships between businesses and government to strengthen New York City.
Abloh has presented his work at major art and design institutions around the globe, including the Harvard Graduate School of Design, the Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, and the Rhode Island School of Design. This summer, a major exhibition of his past and current work is on view at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
Scott was appointed as the creative director of Moschino (where he once interned) in the fall of 2013. The label’s much-sought-after collaboration with H&M debuted in 2018. It will also manifest his dynamic new approach to innovation and design, as well as his unshakable attention to the real needs of women globally.
Elbaz’s honors and recognitions are wide-reaching and significant. They include the International Award from the CFDA in 2005; the Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur, as well as Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People In The World, in 2007; an honorary doctorate from the Royal College of Art in London in 2014; and he was made Officier of the Légion d’Honneur in 2016. Elbaz resides in Paris but always remains a citizen of the world.

The first fashion designer to be awarded, in 2015, both Menswear and Womenswear Designer of the Year by the British Fashion Council, Anderson has created collections and products collaborating with brands such as Converse, Moncler, Topshop and Uniqlo. He is an active supporter of craft: in 2016 he founded the LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize, the world's first international award for contemporary craft and in 2017 he curated Disobedient Bodies, an exhibition at The Hepworth Wakefield in Wakefield. In 2019, the Prime Minister of Britain appointed Jonathan Anderson to the Trustees to the Board of the V&A, one of the world’s leading museums of art and design.
Christopher attended the Savannah College of Art and Design, where the CJR brand was launched with his senior thesis collection. Upon graduation the collection received major press, including Cardi B wearing the “Eddie” coat to the BET Hip Hop awards. Since then the brand has received international placements in Vogue, WWD, T Magazine, and Elle. Along with prominent celebrity placements on Michelle Obama, Rihanna, Tracee Ellis Ross, Karlie Kloss, Lil Nas X, and Lizzo. In 2019 Christopher was the recipient of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund’s top prize, as well as named one of Forbes 30 Under 30. In 2020 Christopher was awarded by the CFDA, American Emerging Designer of the Year.

Today, Burton supervises the creative direction and development of all the brand’s collections, including women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories and oversees all aspects of the house including brand image and retail concept.

Reggie Yates’ career has seen him move from fronting children's programming, to national radio, to hosting the hit Saturday night show The Voice, to become an RTS award-winning documentary maker to making feature films and dramas.
In the last five years, Reggie has become synonymous with critically acclaimed documentaries which have aired on BBC and Netflix, including Extreme Russia, for which Reggie was awarded Best Presenter for the Royal Television Society Awards, Best Factual Programme at the Edinburgh TV Festival, and Best Multi-Channel Programme at the Broadcast Awards.
In 2020 Reggie began shooting his first feature-length film, Pirates, which has been funded by BBC Films and the BFI and had his debut as a writer on BBC Three with the critically acclaimed Make Me Famous. Reggie has also recently launched a youth initiative called Pass The Mic which aims to provide the education, network, and support needed to help underprivileged creatives and give them a pathway into the film and television industry.
Nicolas Ghesquière was born in Comines in the north of France in 1971.
At the age of 15, he learned his way into the fashion business through
various internships. After completing his studies, he started as Design Assistant
to Jean Paul Gaultier in 1991.
In 1995, he joined Balenciaga where he was appointed Creative Director in 1997
and was quickly acclaimed for his sculpted, futuristic and Parisian chic silhouettes. For
three seasons, he designed for different companies including the Italian based house
In October 2001, he received the CFDA “International Designer" award.
In 2006, he was elected by Times Magazine as one of the 100 most influential
persons in the world and he was made “Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres” in 2007 by
the French government.
He is hailed as one of the most intriguing designers of his generation and is widely
credited for launching trends that have resonated throughout the world.
On November 5th, 2013, Nicolas Ghesquière joined Louis Vuitton where he was
appointed Artistic Director of Women’s collections.
In November 2014, a year after his arrival at Louis Vuitton, he was awarded
"Fashion Innovator of the Year" by the Wall Street Journal, then in December, he
received the British Fashion Awards of the "Best International Designer of the Year".
Nicolas Ghesquière received the “Designer of the Year” Instyle award in 2015
and served as Honorary chair for the Met Gala star-studded event in 2016.
He is part of the LVMH Prize jury since 2015.
In May 2017, Nicolas Ghesquière was invited as a speaker and opened the Financial
Times Business of Luxury Summit.
On May 23rd, 2018, Louis Vuitton announces the renewal of Nicolas Ghesquière's
contract as Artistic Director of Women’s Collections.
Andrew Bolton joined The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2002, as Associate Curator, was named Curator in 2006, and became Curator in Charge in January 2016 upon the retirement of his predecessor, Harold Koda. Mr. Bolton was named the Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute in March 2018, when the position was endowed. Mr. Bolton worked alongside Mr. Koda on exhibitions including Dangerous Liaisons (2004), Chanel (2005), Poiret (2007), and Schiaparelli and Prada (2012). In addition, he has curated AngloMania (2006), Superheroes (2008), American Woman (2010), Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty (2011), Punk (2013), China: Through the Looking Glass (2015), Manus x Machina (2016), Rei Kawakubo /Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between (2017), Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination (2018), Camp: Notes on Fashion (2019), and About Time: Fashion and Duration (2020).
Heavenly Bodies attracted more than 1.65 million visitors to The Met Fifth Avenue and The Met Cloisters, making it The Met’s most visited exhibition. Previous exhibitions Bolton curated are also among The Met’s most attended, including China, which had 815,992 visitors; Manus x Machina, with 752,995 visitors; and Alexander McQueen with 661,509 visitors. Bolton has authored and co-authored more than 17 books. He lectures and contributes scholarly articles to various publications. Prior to joining the Metropolitan, Mr. Bolton worked at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London for nine years, as Senior Research Fellow in Contemporary Fashion, and prior to that as Curatorial Assistant in the Far Eastern Department. During this period, he also curated exhibitions at the London College of Fashion.
Born in Great Britain, Mr. Bolton earned a B.A. in social anthropology and an M.A. in Non-Western Art from the University of East Anglia. He became a Visiting Professor at the University of the Arts in London in 2007, and received an Honorary Fellowship in 2016. In 2017, he received an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal College of Art. Mr. Bolton has received several awards, including the Fashion Group International Oracle Award in 2016, the Vilcek Prize in Fashion in 2015, the Best Monographic Exhibition from the Association of Art Museum Curators for Alexander McQueen in 2011, and the Richard Martin Award for Excellence from The Costume Society of America for American Woman in 2010 and also for Poiret (with Harold Koda) in 2007.
In 1973, Goodman became the special assistant to Diana Vreeland at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. After five years, she went on to The New York Times, where she worked with Carrie Donovan before leaving to work as a stylist with LIFE. In 1988, Goodman was appointed Vice President of advertising for Calvin Klein, where she created iconic imagery for the company. In 1992, Tonne left Calvin Klein to work alongside Liz Tilberis at Harper’s Bazaar, where she remained until 1999.
Soon after, Goodman joined Anna Wintour at Vogue, as fashion director, where she remained until 2018. She continues to consult and contributes largely to the publication on a freelance basis. Most recently she was named sustainability editor for American Vogue in December of 2019. Throughout her tenure at Vogue, she has worked on innumerable dramatic editorials and nearly 200 (and counting) eye-catching covers.
In March of 2019, Goodman released Tonne Goodman: Point of View, published by Abrams Books, which chronologically explores her life and career-- from her modeling days to her freelance fashion reportage, to her work as an editor, editorial and advertising work, through to her reign at Vogue.
